About

My first Corgi, Mochi, got me through the tough times during COVID. She has a wicked sense of humour and an infinite passion for cuddles and kisses. The seemingly endless lockdowns in Victoria made me realise the kind of life I want for my dogs and myself—close to nature with wallabies as my neighbours. Now, we’re living the dream on an acreage in Emerald! My dogs can run to the back paddock anytime to practice their herding skills or come in to join me in front of the fireplace for a cosy cuddle. As a small family kennel, all my dogs live like pets, following me wherever I go and spreading their love (and their hair—my vacuum has a lot to complain about!).Feel free to reach out if you’d like to learn more about our Corgi family or if you’re interested in welcoming a lifelong companion into your home!

Our Puppy Diaries

Birth

The Corgi Nursery: Where Tiny Tails Begin 🐶🏡
Our puppies are welcomed into the world in a cosy whelping area right in my bedroom, where their mum and her little ones receive all the care and attention they need. We’ve thoughtfully prepared this space to ensure their comfort and safety, featuring:
🐾 A security camera for peace of mind
🐾 Temperature and humidity monitors to create the perfect environment
🐾 A puppy incubator for any pups needing extra warmth
🐾 Plenty of soft blankets and puppy pads on hand

Week 1 & 2

Puppy Protection Protocol 🛡️
Our little pups are at their most vulnerable during these early days. They can't hear, see, or control their body temperature yet, so our main job is to keep them warm, clean, and well-fed.
Here's what we do to give them the best start:
🐾 Weigh the pups twice a day to make sure they're growing steadily
🐾 Trim their tiny nails to prevent scratching mum or littermates
🐾 Perform their first worming at 2 weeks old
🐾 Provide lots of gentle handling to get them used to human touch
🐾 Start Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) exercises to boost their development

Week 3 & 4

Eyes Open, Paws in Motion 🚀
Things start to get lively (and wonderfully chaotic) as our little ones open their eyes and begin to explore. Here's what's happening:
🐾 Pups start teething and we introduce them to "solids" (mushy kibbles, really)
🐾 We supervise closely to help them learn to lick, not suck, their food
🐾 There's a bit of chaos as they figure out how to eat without wearing it!
Around Week 4, we give them an upgrade:
🐾 Move the pups to a large playpen for more tumbling space
🐾 Set up a puppy pee tray on one side and cosy blankets on the other - the different textures help kickstart the toilet training process
🐾 Repeat worming and nail trimming

Week 5 & 6

The Great Weaning Escapade 💫
Mum's officially calling it quits on nursing - those tiny shark teeth are no joke! Our little pups are weaning and discovering the joys of total household exploration. Picture this: adorable fluffballs zipping around, playing an epic game of hide-and-seek that would challenge even the most patient human. One moment they're right beside you, the next they've vanished into the mysterious realm "under the couch" or "behind the curtains"!
Puppy's First Big Adventure: Vet Visit 🩺
Week 6 brings their inaugural veterinary expedition - a milestone for any young pup! They'll be getting their first vaccination and microchip, looking absolutely brave (with maybe just a tiny whimper). Pro tip: Extra cuddles are the ultimate comfort strategy for any momentary puppy distress.
Training Begins 💪
We're diving into the world of toilet training and pen training. Pups are learning boundaries, bathroom etiquette, and how to be the most well-behaved furry citizens on the planet. Regular worming and nail trimming are also part of our routine.

Week 7 & 8

The World Is Their Playground 🌏🐾
By now, our little Corgis are full of beans and bursting with curiosity! Every day is a new adventure, whether it’s meeting a new human, hearing a strange household sound (hello vacuum cleaner!), or getting a taste of different textures and toys. Socialisation and confidence-building are key at this stage.
Here’s what we focus on:
🐾 Daily handling by different people so they’re confident with new humans
🐾 Exposure to everyday household sounds (e.g. vacuum, TV, washing machine, hair dryer) in a positive way
🐾 More complex toys and obstacle play to build coordination and confidence
🐾 Short car rides and confidence-boosting solo time away from littermates
🐾 Getting used to wearing a soft collar and name being called
They’re also learning gentle boundaries from both dogs and humans. A bit of nibbling? Totally normal. A bit of attitude? Classic Corgi.

Week 9 & Beyond

New Homes, Full Hearts 💌🐾
By this stage, our pups are bright-eyed, bushy-bottomed, and ready to meet the world! Saying goodbye is always bittersweet, but we’re so proud to send our little ones off with all the tools they need to thrive in their new families.
Here’s what this transition looks like at Asanoyuki:
🐾 Each pup leaves with a personalised puppy pack, filled with familiar smells, helpful info, and a few goodies to ease the transition
🐾 We provide vaccination and microchip records, plus their health check certificate and pedigree papers
🐾 New families receive a tailored care guide and lifetime support. Once an Asanoyuki pup, always an Asanoyuki pup
Each pup takes a piece of our heart, but watching them blossom in their new homes reminds us why we do this. They were born under our roof, raised with love, and are now out there bringing joy to others. And that’s something truly special.
